Saturday's Shrimp Festival was a success for me!!!! I had a fabulous day!!!! I met some of the greatest folks and sold a bunch of my creations!!!!! The weather was fabulous, 92 degrees a little warm, but lower humidity than usual, nice breeze with sunshine and carolina blue skies all day long!!! I had one customer who even gave me a beautiful rose!!!!
I fenced in all of the plate flowers and totems to give an idea of what they can look like in a garden. I was pretty sure no one around here had ever seen anything like them. I really loved everything I put out, but when I got to see them all together in the sunshine I fell in love all over again. The pictures indoors did not do them justice so I took individual pictures of each! I won't post them all but you can check them out if you like. Some I have posted before but some I have not. Just click on any one of the pictures to go to my album and check them out!
After I set up for the day I took some pictures and had a little visitor...Check the pictures out!!! I realized when I saw it that My creations are nothing like the creations of our Creator!!! This little guy was a work of real art!!!! Thank you Lord for all of your creations and for this blessed day!!!!!

PLATE FLOWERS My Latest Craze!
As always, I can't help myself when I see something I like. I fell in love with these the first time I saw them and can't stop making them. They are absolutely adorable and look fantasic when placed in your garden alone or floating in shubbery that need some color. They are quite eye catching. I intend to try and sell a few during the Shrimp Festival as well though I am am having trouble deciding which ones to sell. LOL The first is my favorite, I know it is clear glass but it reminds me of perfection, and what else could a flower be but perfect. As always to see more just click on any of the pics.

Three Cobalt Blue Totems
3 New Cobalt Blue Totems |
I still have quite a bit of glass left and put these together last night. I love this Cobalt Blue! I am not sure I can get rid of them though I am going to give it a shot during our Shrimp Festival in August. I am certain that if I can't sell them all I will be able to find homes for them. (I have quite a large yard to fill!) LOL These three along with the nine I previously posted should give me a nice presentation. What do you think? These are the first Nine.

Totem, Birdbath, and ????
This is the nightmare red totem that has fallen twice broken glass each time and then put it back together again. I got in a hurry and wanted to move it somewhere where it wouldn't be disturbed, Oh well it is finished, I am soooo happy about that! This is what used to be a red wine bottle and a humming bird feeder, I slipped it over the neck of the bottle glued into place and I plan to add a plate on the bottom when I find the right one and add crystals then hang it in one of my trees. It is a work in progress.
All Three.......
All Three.......
This is a birdbath for my new friend Toni, She had the bowl and asked me to make her a birdbath, I hope she will be happy with what I came up with. The plate under this is a glass microwave turntable I will probably replace it with a ceramic plate, the plate is usually not seen as it provides ballast for the birdbath, it is covered with dirt and/or mulch to help balance the piece. This will make a great statement inher garden! I love it!!!!

4th Annual Hampstead Classy Chassis Car Show and Flea Market
In order to keep the peace in our house I also like to go with Hubby to local and not so local car shows. This was our first visit to this show. On the way there needed to waste some time so we stopped in at a few yard sales and thrift stores. and to top it all off there was a Flea Market / Craft Section of the Car show...I was in Hog Heaven, met some really nice folks and saw some really kewl cars. It was a beautiful day on the grounds of the Poplar Grove Plantation, lots of Live oaks at least 100 yrs old shading almost the whole show. this is a picture of some of the goodies we found on the way and while we were there. By the Way...Hello to Val and Sanddee!!! Two great ladies I met at the show today!!! Hope to see you soon!

Cobalt Blue Bottle Bouquet
While I have been searching for colored glass for my totems I have also been collecting cobalt wine bottles for my first bottle tree, well I don't have quite enough to make the bottle tree I thought I might figure a way to enjoy the bottles I do have until I get some more. Well, I was in a shop this past Sunday and found this great Cobalt Cookie Jar and voila....I knew just what to do to enjoy those bottles. I took Fiberglass rods from Lowes and cut them in half and inserted them in the cookie jar and then added the bottles one at a time aranging them as I added them. the results were brilliant. I place the bouquet on the table outside my livingroom window. The veiw is great! See for yourself!

I have gone TOTEM CRAZY
I was introduced to the Totem on a Forum I belong to. You Garden Web Garden Junkers know who you are!
So I set out to collect colored glass and this is the result of yard saling and junking for two weeks and two days hard work with no interruptions! Ok it was probably more like a week because I had to clean and remove tags and decide which pieces went to which totem and in what order, but once that was done it was all about gluing them in the correct order and waiting for them to set.
The first one is a bird bath totem the rest are juut for gazing! I really wanted a red totem but hadn't found enough to make one yet so I used Pebeo Transparent Glass Paint to embellish the base vases and then the floral plate was painted into a georgous flower. I am really pleased with the results. All of these will add lots of color to my azeala hedge now that the blooms are gone. The Greens will be a contrasting color against the Dark green foilage of the bushes. I found 96 feet of the cutest Picket border that I will use to surround the Totem Bed. I will post more pics as soon as I get it finished! ENJOY!

Glass-a-holic
I think I am turning into a glass-a-holic! I took advice from a friend on my GardenWeb forum and picked Monday as the day to go to the Sally Ally and Good Will.....The results were staggering! I mean I had to stagger out with all the stuff I found. I have a new friend who works at the Sally Ally and she emailed that she had a bowling ball if I wanted to stop over and get it. I have a lot to do with the fourth just around the corner and said what the heck...Its Monday...Yardsale leftovers...lets see.....Well see for your self...It didn't stop there I went to 3 other Thrifty's as well. My greatest finds were the Green Glass Lamps! Can't wait to take them apart and well you know..... Sadly though I could find no red glass, but, I did get cobalt bottles for the bottle tree I haven't made yet. Add this to what I have already collected and I have a lot to keep me busy. I should have lots to post after the weekend, so TTFN.

Mom Recycles Sea Shells
On Fathers Day while I was visiting my parents I realized that I am my mothers daughter..good thing....She also Recycles found objects. Since my Mom and Dad moved to the coast my mother has collected shells. On day someone gave her a gift of a painted Shell and the Obsession began..er uh shell projects..you know what I mean...I thought I would share them with you in this slide show. Here is the first slide of the Shell she received as a gift that started her inspirationprior to this she had never painted, keep that in mind. It is really quite amazing. Unfortunately, shortly after the sweet lady who gave her the shell and taught her to paint the shells, she herself had a stroke and could no longer do what she loved. Mom says she still has a basket full of shells to paint and she will paint every one. With each she gets better and better, Here are the shells she has already painted! I am so proud of her. (Love you Mom!)

Spent my morning at the beach...
It was lovely! 4 mile walk and wade, a little swim and Very few people around as you will see in the photos up and down the beach, this is why we call this our little piece of paradise. Of course the beaches do get a little congested on weekends and holidays but for the most part mornings are for the locals, and oh how beautifule they are.
Hard to believe that I can find so much pleasure in my junk gardening and also the same amount of pleasure taking in the beauty of Gods Sea and Sand. Kinda makes you stand up and take notice. I beliebe that we junk gardeners enhance the beauties God has given us for free by bringing peoples attention to those wonders through our "Junk" It is then that they begin to see why it is we do what we do and how we can enjoy it so! Have a wonderful day everyone, I am off to run errands, pick up some babies for my tipsies and back into the garden I go! See ya later!

Lady Bugs are Done!!!!
I will have to say that they were a little more than just work. Getting them cut in half was the hardest part. My painting skills were not the greatest either. LOL All in all I don't think they turned out half bad.....I think they are soooo cute! I will display them in my yard all together in a bunch. I think that will look the greatest. I already have ideas for the next bunch. What do you think!

Glass Garden Totems and Solar Lamp
I saw these on the Garden Junk Forum shortly after I joined the Garden Web. They looked pretty cool so I thought why not try to find some glass and make one, so since it is raining and I can't go to the beach today I put my thinking cap on and went to work. My brain went on over drive though I have to admit I only made 2 but I also made the kewlest Solar Lamp with a most gorgeous red Vase. Enjoy, I think I will be adding to this album soon!
